Family Therapy

Every family goes through hard times. Maybe you’re a parent whose teenager feels distant, or is engaging in some risky behavior. Perhaps your family has not been able to have a calm meal together since the 2016 presidential election. Or maybe you’re an adult now, and the hardest days were long ago, but you still feel hurt about what happened in your family, and you know it’s getting in the way of these important relationships.

It’s so painful to be unable to connect and feel close to the people who should know you best.

I have 15 years of experience of working with families. I’ve learned that every family member has an essential contribution to make, and that every family has its own unique strengths and challenges. Using your family’s core values, we can keep our focus on what really counts: love, connection and safety.

I use several modalities, including Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, Family Systems, and for younger families, play therapy. It’s possible to help your family to step out of the old arguments and reconnect to what matters.
